Higher education cannot sustain only through public funding. While public private partnerships in higher education have been pursued as a strategy, not many have shown successful results. Hence, the PPP models need to be revisited so as to allow more meaningful collaborations. A critical analysis of PPP in HE , the existing legal provisions and which viable models are possible need to carried out.

PPP models have not been so effective in education sectors because there is no profit or return on investment in it. There can be greater role for the private sectors in higher education. The”Not For Profit” policy can be changed for better arrangements. PPP is relevant for general education. Private sectors should help in the construction and maintenance of all infrastructures in colleges. Corporates can manage facilities and open colleges as non-p

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): • The corporates shall be allowed to deposit the CSR amount with the banks which shall be treated as CSR amount spent by the corporate. • The education loan quantum can be a percentage of the CSR amount deposited by the company with the bank eg. around five times of the CSR amount deposited by the corporate with the bank.• As and when the educational loan is repaid, the bank will fund another student based on the same deposit of the corporate.
