Kalyan-Dombivli is one of the 98 cities shortlisted to be developed as a ‘Smart City’ under the Smart Cities Mission of the Government of India. Kalyan Dombivli is in the process of revising the smart city proposal to participate in the Round-2 of Smart City Challenge.

KDMC appreciates the continuous support from citizens in the preparation of the plan. Further, the corporation invites the views and suggestions of the citizens on the draft proposal prepared for Kalyan-Dombivli. We hereby request you to provide us your valuable insights and suggestions on the proposal.

Footpaths build along the roads have to be strictly for walking and not for hawkers to sell their products. Shops too have to be discouraged from using this area for themselves. Trimming and maintenance of trees along side the roads and other areas to give as aspect of beauty Pollution control: All factories in MIDC areas are dumping waste water in rivers without proper treatments, checks and controls have to be put to control pollution of drinking water and breathing air

Education hub: We need to invite engineering colleges and medical colleges in our area, to help students from surrounding places, Karjat has developed in this aspect even being far, why can't we?? The project for metro should be followed upon so as to reduce pressure on other transport systems Botanical gardens, Libraries should be built for citizens in reservation plots Garbage treatment plants to be introduced to produce electricity to reduce the huge piling and dumping of garbage

To have control on un-authorized construction is a must. Other than this if planned and affordable housing complexes on reservation plots at lower budgets for middle class people are built, this will further avoid un-authorized constructions, this will help enhancing the ambiance of our city Water transport system: Kalyan, Dombivali, Titwala, Gandhare, all can be connected using water ways, if this is developed further it will help reduce pressure on roads

Transport Issue:- We have 8 railway stations in our KDMC area. If we clean up the area around these stations and regularize KDMT transport service from all these stations, it will help the citizens immensely No Hawker area:- No hawker zone around the railway stations to be maintained to avoid traffic and other types of nuisances Trees plantation and Parking beside roads: Trees to be planted alongside all major roads and the parking of vehicles to be regularized in form of end-to-end parking

There should be clean road to walk upon with street lights and tree plantation. Garbage should be picked up on daily basis. Station area should be clean with clean and hygienic toilets. Drainage system should be modernized. Traffic Police or Traffic signals is needed to be maintained.

over bridge at kalyan railway station from shubhash chowk to bailbazar to avoid heavy traffic at station area, In kalyan east from station to second tunnel there is lot off problems to people for travelling so build a over bridge from station to second tunnel at kalyan east

Please provide 24 hours drinking water, electricity, Gas supply to all the citizen of country in order to make smart city. Make roads and highway better and stress free. look the example of western world.

There should be improvement in basic amenities in industrial areas, development of multi-specialty hospitals and better use of CCTV cameras for vigilance.
