Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

1) Infrastructure and connectivity: Metro plan is required. Local trains are already bust with their limits 2) Widened and better roads - again, narrow roads in populated are adding to traffic jams 3) Online services and applications

The first thing i believe before initiating any activity we need to do the feasibility in terms of what is really required in 1. Immediate future ( 1-3 yrs ) 2. Near future ( 4-6 yrs ) 3. Long terms ( 6-10 yrs ) I want to keep a tap of 10 yrs since this very considerable time for the implementation Based on that we need to have Promote and educate the people in terms what is really expected put of them since there support is vital in this process

Tree cover is worst in kalyan dombivali, we need to plant trees on both sides of the roads & make new gardens,parks,play grounds for children and people to go there and relax. 20. Tree cover is worst in kalyan dombivali, we need to plant trees on both sides of the roads & make new gardens,parks,play grounds for children and people to go there and relax. 20. 12. LPG Gas pipeline connections to all residential areas of Kalyan-Dombivali 13. Need area wise interaction with Government officers once in 6 months 14. Focus on security with CCTV arrangement 15. Proper account of all houses & buildings, shops & malls, hotels & other infrastructures. 16. Thakurli station sky walk required to east side as there is number of development projects going on. 17. 9. Parking space created at Kalyan-Dombivali stations for 4 wheelers, 2 wheelers must made more secure and reliable. nd more parking facility should be proviided. 10. Increase tourism of Kalyan which was Shivaji Maharaj Naval base in old times. Create museum showing cultural history of Shivaji Maharaj. Revamp exiting Shivaji fort & Devi Mata temple 11. Strict rules for traffic, people littering & spitting in public places, charge heavy penalties #SmartCity, #KalyanDombivli, #MyGov

5. Make The Kalyan End Bridge at Dombivli Station Wider and address it as a Public Bridge 6. Make The FOB Hawker Free at Rush Hours. 7. Increase tourism on river front by introducing boat-float restaurants, yatch restaurants, water sports & all other measures to increase tourism 8. 1. A smarter way to dispose of the waste. Bigger garbage bins, to stop garbage being spilled around. Fixing camera near to garbage bins to catch people who throw waste outside bins. 2. Better connectivity with Mumbai, including more trains and direct road connectivity. Dombivli - Mankoli Bridge should be accelerated. 3. The beautification of creek area should be of prime importance. 4. Get Proper Signals at Crossroads And Ensure People Follow The rules. #SmartCity #KalyanDombivli #MyGov
