Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

Smart City Kalyan Dombivili- I think smart city means the city which will provide you better utilisation of time, better health facility, carrier growth opportunities, Neat and clean (means health conscious), Less utilisation of resources which create pollution and more utilisation of eco-friendly resources. And lastly the wastage we throw to nature should not harmful for nature. To make our city as a smart city which can think for all we should take following steps primarily.

IN KALYAN EAST, SKY WALK IS IN PROCESS FOR SINCE LAST 5 YEARS, STILL NOT COMPLETED. BUT FROM MY POINT OF VIEW HERE SKY WALK IS NOT REQUIRED, FLY OVER BRIDGE IS REQUIRED TO JOIN EAST AND WEST. UNLIKE OTHER STATIONS IN CENTRAL LINE, RICKSHAWS/BUSES STOPS NEAR STATIONS BUT NOT IN KALYAN EAST WE HAVE TO WALK FROM TRACKS AND TUNNELS FOR MOVING TOWARDS EAST THEN TO TAKE RICKSHAWS. BY MAKING FLY OVER BRIDGE IT WILL LOOK LIKE SION AND CURRY ROAD STATIONS. AND IT WILL HELP TO BUILD CITY.

The areas around Dombivli railway station should be cleared up using Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme (SATIS) on the lines of Thane SATIS. All hawkers, encroachments and slums near the station and the tracks should be cleared. The station itself should be upgraded to make it multi-level clean and spacious building with retail, commercial and entertainment options. There should be Multi-Level Parking facilities available besides the station.
