Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

Titwala is one of the important place of the kalyan dombivli city but it is unintentionally apart from the development so in smart city please pay attention to develop the infrastructure near titwala railway station.

There is dire need to improve on infrastructure. 1. There is no traffic signalling system in whole dombivli area. 2. New fly-overs within internal city areas to decongest increasing vehicular traffic. 3. Having dedicated hawker zones in consultation with local residents rather than illegal hawking at every nook & corner of the city. 4. Alternate peripheral roads to connect with neighbouring cities like Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai without having dependent on only one road.

In respect to smart city concept,business,economic,infrastructure development are OK, but, the real development of social harmony,human development,cultural development, etc.things are very important for peace,harmony and fruitfull helping nature of people.For that,there should be YOGA,SPIRITUAL,PRAYER CENTRE in CITY.There should be no crime & no accused,Jail should be paid & luxurious with all accommodation like AC,bed-sofa,pure bhojan-breakfast,TV but no mobile-net as per jail manual strictly

As an Urban Planner and resident of kalyan city thought that this new concept of smart city as a good initiative for smart city. There are several suggestions for the city governance to include under smart city as a pan city project 1. Mobile tracking for solid waste system 2. GPS enabled Transport system 3. Pedestrianization of some areas with promotion of cycling and NMV transport 4. E-governance of land records as a retrofitting project 1. Free WIFi 2. SCADA system ofwater supply

In respect to smart city, people safety and security specially to woman should be given high priority.CCTV camara should be fixed at all the points from entrance of city to exit of city, which should be constantly monitored. smart city should be trade,sercives and business oriented, NO industries which make pollution, should be sanctioned within the limit of 25 kms of the city. The city should be completely with trees and plants,it should be pollution free, The people should feel like heaven

Out of few problems being faced in Dombivli are lack of cleanliness, lack of proper roads and improper traffic management. We have traffic signals here with solar panels but never seen them working. Still roads are of very poor quality with patches all over. We support cleanliness but it should be supported by government actions with dust-bins and proper waste management through out the city. Garbage vans pick up garbage at specific time but rest of the day, that place is filthy.
