Kalyan-Dombivli has been short-listed as one of the 100 cities in India to be developed as a SMART City under the SMART Cities Mission. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is in the process of preparing a Smart City Proposal to compete in the nation-wide Smart City Challenge. Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation seeks the valuable inputs of the citizens to assist in the preparation of smart city vision. We request you to share your thoughts and aspirations on this discussion forum. The needs, aspirations and dreams of the citizens are to be articulated through the SMART CITY vision. KDMC is looking for active participation of the citizens to understand their likes and dislikes about the city, the city features to leverage for smart city development, and thoughts for optimum utilization of the city resources. The suggestions are welcomed on various smart solutions for urban services like water supply, sewerage, solid waste management; aesthetics, transport, health, e-governance and IT interventions.

We lack basic amenities like better transportation,need to endanger our lives while getting into a local train at peaks hours,we don't have better bus services,etc. We don't have better roads,hospitals,government schools,colleges,markets,bus stops,railway stations,parks etc... To be a smart city,we should atleast fulfill these basic needs of the city...Then only we can think of being smart #smartcity#kalyandombivali

I am a Civil Engineer & currently pursuing my Mtech from SPCE,Andheri. As an engineer,the concept of Smart city seems to be a Myth to me.Please don't fool people with these fake dreams.I am not critizing anybody here. But to be called a Smart City,are we indeed living in a City to be called as a City...We should seriously think on this topic,are we really having basic amentites to be called as a City #SmartCity#KalyanDombivali#MyGov

1.Make best use of water front 2.Low carbon footprint 3.Dedicated wi-fi corridors 4.Solar powered bikes for post & courier distribution 5.Smart restroom systems/urinals at every 2 km 6.Mandatory eco-friendly use of idols during festivals 7.Increased frequency of Double fast trains starting from Kalyan/Dombivli to Mumbai during peak hours (7:00 - 9:30 am)

6.Garbage decompose area with quick garbage collection facility 7.sewage management as in Europe Japan where no water logging in rainy season occur 8.metro line from kalyan to navimumbai and to dadar and thane 9.WiFi on road 10.Manufacturing hub for workers to work 1. Software industry 2.Teaching skill training 3. Separate chemical plant 4. Garmeent industry 5. Skill worker training to build smart buildings

1.solar energy use must be encouraged free solar panels for buildings,and on streets. 2. IT and logistics hub in separate industrial area 3. Separate residential area and home for all And separate buildings for street sleepers and workers and people live in chawls And proper residential flat for people living on rent so reallocation will not a problem 4. Roads should not be less than 100 ft with two lanes and with pedestrian walk 5. Cheap and fast transportation as rick loots money

1. Dedicated education zone. Centres for continued education. Central Library 2. RFID based toll collection system 3. Encourage Energy efficient buildings 4. Dedicated Food courts 5. Use of drones for aerial surveillance 6. Timely incineration of waste 7. Encourage Car free day or Bicycle day 8. Smart display of Government policy awareness at public places 9. Stringent action against polluting industries. 10. Jogging parks

The basic amenities are not met in Dombivli. 1. There is unequal distribution of water in various areas. Hence Distribution of water should be streamlined. 2. Auto's - Charging by meter should be made mandatory. 3. Road side lights should be Solar powered 4. Dedicated corridors for school bus 5. Mandatory plantation on both side of roads 6. Easy & fast connectivity to Mumbai 7. Dedicated service sector zones 8. Dedicated time for roadside vendors 9. CCTV at all public places

Bus Facility within Kalyan City is very pathetic.Rikshaws loots money from poor passengers as they are charged not on meter basis bus as their wish.So, need to look in to it.
