High-tech waste management systems. Pay As You Throw (PAYT) garbage disposal would encourage people to recycle more and waste less, while using tools like RFID could improve sorting so recyclable plastic bottles don't end up in landfills.

Please ensure that there is proper segregation of waste at source and at the municipality level. A smart city cannot have a landfill. The bio degradable waste needs to be composted. This compost can produce methane which can be used as cooking gas. It can be supplied to the BPL citizens. This will reduce the subsidy on cooking fuel as well. Also by segregating plastic and glass at source, it can be recycled better and thus reduce our petroleum import bill.
