During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

Use of Public transportation is great method to reduce the use of personal vehicle and thus to reduce use of fuel.each city there must have a ring of 10km from city heart, and upto 10 km people can use their personal vehicles and after in the city they have to take public transport.and here you can use cycles, electric vehicles for the mode of transportation thus to reduce vehicle traffic and also reduce usage of fuel.Bikes entering to city limit must be strictly prohibited(encourage cycle use).

In my school children are not allowed to bring their two wheelers but cycle. What we can usually do is - while dropping or picking up the child we can do carpooling then there sould be an app where people travelling on the same route can do car pooling

I would urge the people of India not to use their personal motor vehicles one day in a week. Instead use Government/private transport vehicles to carry out their daily works. It will really help a lot in saving fuels & reducing the import burden on fuels of the Government.
