The Government has reviewed the existing draft National Youth Policy, 2014 and prepared a new draft National Youth Policy (NYP). The draft NYP envisages a ten - year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to 'unlock the potential of the youth to advance India'.

The draft NYP seek to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz. education; employment & entrepreneurship: youth leadership & development; health, fitness & sports; and social justice. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

The Department of Youth Affairs seek comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Youth Policy (PDF 1.23 MB)

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th July, 2022.

Respected Sir , Please think about mobilizing the youths in Information Technology , we need to have fourth division of Armed Forces. Its high time to call out for Cyber Army. We are vastly migrating our services to Digital Technology , yet though we are lacking in the field of Information Security practices. Our day to day activities are highly affected even by a single instance of Digital Event ,it can be website down or a loss of service. We definitely need a proactive approach for our Digital Infrastructure. Thankyou

1)Please ensure Media should be held equally responsible to ensure misleading youths are not tested to be called as Hero’s. Instead they should focus on how to bring misdirected youth to work for building nation & not breaking.2)Target to have more playgrounds to youth in every city/village. 3)Target to complete abolition of youth abuse. 4)Please aim to build proper disaster management system with young people. 5)Please also target so young minds learn the psychology of money so they can think how the world works. Young People from different generations, raised by different parents who earned different incomes, different values, living in different states, experiencing different job markets job salaries, learn different lessons. The list of experience is endless. Let the policy allow them to think of better manage money. 6)Setup advisory body who can advise voluntary & independently all issues of youth policy. 7)Promote international Cooperation on youth policy & youth information work

1)Please mention to bring up personal potential of most vulnerable youth who are disconnected from school, work or family else it will cost the nation huge money every year in lost earnings, welfare etc. 2)Define Youth. A 50+ age can be called as youth? 3) Have National level forum on youth violence prevention that would increase awareness, drive action & build local capacity to address youth violence thru comprehensive planning. 4)Don’t aim to find weaknesses or deficits to be remediated. But aim to develop skills & talent in youth. 5)Integrate content on youth with disabilities. 6)Develop short guides/Standards to address challenges faced by young people by means of recommendations to ensure a minimum level of standards in youth policy. 7)Engage, Connect & Encourage young people, youth organizations, youth related stakeholders, local/regional representation helping to prepare or foster civic, social, economic, digital democracy, cultural & political participation in building nation.
