The Government has reviewed the existing draft National Youth Policy, 2014 and prepared a new draft National Youth Policy (NYP). The draft NYP envisages a ten - year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to 'unlock the potential of the youth to advance India'.

The draft NYP seek to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz. education; employment & entrepreneurship: youth leadership & development; health, fitness & sports; and social justice. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

The Department of Youth Affairs seek comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Youth Policy (PDF 1.23 MB)

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th July, 2022.

I believe that most youth are not fully aware of all the opportunities that exists for them. Doctor and engineers are not the only professions to take up. India should start a career counselling project to provide counselling once a year for 15-24 age groups to present to them the different sectors they can build their careers in, the kind of education they need to pursue and how they can work towards these objectives. There are 25 crores youth in this age group and this would require at least 2 lakh counsellors per year which can be filled in through temporary/permanent recruitment as well as voluntary services offered by others who wish to contribute.

Namaste 🙏 I'm the part of the future of the India. From the corner of our country I want to share my idea regarding 'Green corridor for Earning: Youth Development '. As our GOI introducing policies, schemes for Higher education and employment and even many more areas for the development of Indian Youth. BUT, INDIAN YOUTH IS HIGHLY ATTRACTED TO THE SUCCESS PATH OFFERED BY THE FOREIGN COUNTRIES COMPARED TO INDIA. Yes, We are developing Great scientists, Researchers, Entrepreneurs, Leaders, Health workers FOR OTHERS. WHY they are not ready to serve India with their talents and ideas ? The one and only reason is EARNING. How much they get paid for their work? 'Green corridor for Earning: Youth Development ' through this Valuation of talent in terms of Authority and Money will be helpful for us to retain our youth in our country. Jay Hind🙏
