One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Dear Sir,
Attention PMO
I wish to bring following to your notice, so that, if considered relevant, the information could be used for policy formation. Any example given here is not for redressal of personal grievance, but, it is only for high-lighting the point.
In India consumer/ public, in general is always at receiving end. Public is made to suffer by private companies/ public sector companies/ government (including Central Government), educational institutions, etc.

India should immidiately abolish Tax free Income Norms .
GOI should introduce rebate in tax if person present the bills of its expenses .
Like X salary is 3,00,000 Rs and if X submit monthly bill of 10,000 Rs as grocery bill , 8,000pm as his kids education fees as medical bill or services bill , Enteratinment bill etc then that should be deducted from his income and remaining income should be considered as taxable income . This will force retailers , manufactures to fill tax honestly.

They can be given the options to function as a
-Charitable Organisation
-Philanthropic Organisation
-Setting up of non-profit organisations like Schools,Colleges,Medical Institutions for the impoverished in the Country.
A Percentage of accumulated annual Offerings / Donations should be utilized for the above purposes.., otherwise they can be taxed under a different head that the government will utilise for the above purposes only..

Tax Exemptions to Governing Bodies of Religious Shrine on Offerings & Donations viz., Tirupati., Shiridi., Sabarimala., Velankani., Ajmer Dargah., Golden Temple etc must be reviewed considering alleviation of Poverty, Malnutrition, Illiteracy, Health Insecurity, & other basics of a livelihood for the impoverished (..& that is all the almighty needs as our offerings to him..) in the Country.,
Therefore., Tax on these Governing Bodies can be revised by imposing certain tax obligations viz CSR

The income tax exemption is designed for only rich people/corporation. Otherwise what explain the exemption limit of Rs 15000/annum for medical purpose & Rs 36000 for Internet/Telephony.
The exemption Limit should be desinged based on some system where has the individual has the flexibility how much he want to exempt in each head keeping the total exemption constant.
Hope Mr Jaitley /Mr Modi will take care of this anomaly in their budget this time

Unrealistic HRA Income tax policy for middle class salaried citizens of India residing in rental house.
I am a salaried tax payer residing in rental house. My annual house rent expenses clearly exceeds Rs.1 lakh.
As per the existing income tax policy, it is mandatory for me to provide PAN of landlord (if the annual rent exceeds 1 lakh) if I have to avail tax deductions as per my HRA limit.

But almost all landlords do not agree to share their PAN.
Request you to please simplify the policy.
