Jai Hind,
The amount of wealth (from tax-payers money) which has been siphoned off from the nations treasury to private coffers over the last 7 decades would have taken this nation far beyond the reach of the rest of the world.
Rather than breaking the back of common man, focus should be on preventing this siphoning of nations wealth.
Nations with income tax brackets of a fraction of what our citizens pay have much better infrastructure and amenities.
We need to wake up and act right.

#Surajya Income tax deduction at source need to be stopped, this is just burdening middle class salaried group. Tax to collected at point of spending
Lets have simple use case, 3 salaried person working for some private firm with same salary range. They will be end up in paying somewhat same amount of tax but remaining money spending is different
A on parents health
B on education/home loan
C on expensive gadgets
In the current system A an B do get tax deductions but subjected to capping.

Our current revenue collection policy is based upon Western world, where citizens are more law abiding. In our country, the solutions needs complete different perspective. I believe the tax should be levied where it is impossible to avoid. I have one such idea which I would like to present.

Indian population basically resided in villages.Person deriving income from the agriculture activity are exempt from tax.It is right to do so but only to the needy. as vast majority engaged in agriculture dose not own land and are taken on lease/patta.Thus big owners who derives rental income gets benefited. therefore those who actually are in need of help must get only. in this way large number of person can be brought in tax bracket. Thus will help in reducing tax burden and curtail black money

A salaried employee with a average gross salary of 15.0 lacs ends up paying atleast 10% of its gross salary in the form of Income tax (this is after utilization of all the benefits and deductions) were as Companies as big as Reliance industries pay income tax to the tune of less than 2% of its revenue. This restricts the Drawing power of an individuals. they need:
1. reformed investment structure.
2. feasibility in tax slabs
3. encouragement to invest in start ups and claim for the losses

The income tax's minimum limit should be above 3.5 Lakhs and the tax policies should be so reasonable that peoble pay the taxes happily.
If we are paying 14% service tax,12% vat/cst on the electrical items and other things. And even after this we pay income tax then how will the medium class people survive.
If min. taxable income limit is increased govt. can earn from other things for which we pay different taxes at several points of selling chain. It can be countered by heavy import duty.
