An Appeal to Remove Colonial-Era Symbols from Our Keyboards Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India has reclaimed its political freedom and is steadily strengthening its economic and cultural sovereignty under your leadership. From Aatmanirbhar Bharat to Make in India, the nation is moving with confidence toward self-reliance. However, one small yet powerful colonial-era symbol still shapes our daily thinking: the $ Dollar symbol on laptop and computer keyboards, while our own ₹ Rupee symbol remains secondary or absent. Every day, millions of Indians type, work, code, trade, and learn using keyboards that prioritize the dollar—a reminder of economic dominance inherited from colonial and post-colonial systems. Symbols matter. They shape mindset, aspiration, and identity. I humbly urge your government to consider: Mandating the ₹ Rupee symbol as the primary currency symbol on keyboards sold in India Regards, Dayanand Patil

Suggestion for Special Budget Allocation for Road Safety Technology (Union Budget 2026–27) Road accidents in India are largely caused by non-use of turn indicators while turning and the use of mobile phones during driving. Penal measures alone have not been sufficient to change driver behaviour. It is suggested that the Union Budget 2026–27 provide a special allocation for technology-based road safety solutions. A Smart Indicator System can ensure mandatory use of turn indicators by providing alerts, limiting speed, or auto-activating indicators when a vehicle turns. In addition, a Driving-linked Mobile Alert System can restrict full mobile phone ringing while the vehicle is in motion, allowing calls to be attended only after the vehicle is safely parked. Such measures can be implemented in new and existing vehicles and can significantly reduce road accidents.

Private sector employees' wages are low. There is a difference between workers' family consumption and the Consumer Price Index. Many goods and services need to be added. The long-standing method of calculating the CPI should be changed. The CPI General and CPI IW should be determined by understanding the current consumption patterns of the people. My other views are in the PDF.
