Cleaning of clothes using Washing machine is done in 2 steps. 1. Washing using soap water in one container. 2. Rinsing and Spinning to remove the soap water in another container. After every rinsing of clothes, the water used for rinsing the clothes can be moved to container 1 and reutilized for washing. This will save 50% of water used for washing of the clothes by washing machine. The government can promote this by giving more eco friendly ratings to such washing machine.

The State Govt's are not furnishing quarterly physical progress in terms of green, blue and livelihood support i.e drinking water provided to poor, irrigation water, ground water recharge, skill development, agriculture productivity. In addition to financial progress, physical progress also mandatory to know to practical application on the ground. Always only discussing financial progress. Since inception of watershed project till completion of 07 years, the DoLR asking state govt progress.

In India we have almost good monsoon every year. The amount rain we get every year is enormous. If we manage to save at least 25% of the rain we get we will be able get rid of our 50 to 60% of water scarcity problem. Rain Water harvest is one of the best method to save the water and use it for future use. This will not only help to increase the ground water level but also reduces the pressure on our traditional water source like lakes/ rivers etc. govt should encourage Rain Water Harvesting

How about creating a competitive spirit among RWA's in ground water recharge targets...Simple awards/rewards/recognition could motivate RWA's to use techniques of ground water recharge

Farms with min. of 5 acre should compulsorily reserve 5% of land for captive pond with atleast 6 feet depth to collect and save rain water. This will hold 18 lac liter A single spell of 25 mm rain will fill the pond if properly collected from the surface of 5 Acre well connected by water ways. This will help to recharge ground water,to prevent soil erosion. All agri waste can be dumped into pond. Every year desilting should be done which can be used as manure. Result: sustainable Agri.

Watershed Management is a scheme to improve ground water situation. Why not make Rain Water harvesting as a mandatory steps for all existing & upcoming housing/factories/offices. Compliance to the same will definitely help improve the present ground water level in every city/state.
