Waste management is an important requirement for ecologically sustainable development. Efficient sorting of waste is a major issue in today’s society. The main goals of this discussion are to come up with solutions for the following problems using technology as a tool.

1) Reducing waste production
2) Ensuring that wastes are properly disposed
3) Recycling and re-using disposed products

“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” or the "Clean India Mission" is India's biggest cleanliness campaign that aims to accomplish the vision of "Clean India". Waste management is an integral part of this campaign. To assist the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” initiative, projects may be setup to create products which are solar-powered trash receptacle and trash compactor that alerts sanitation crews of municipal authorities, when it is full.

Also E-Waste (obsolete, discarded, broken and surplus electrical and electronic devices) is of immediate and long term concern as the industry is unregulated and recycling can lead to major environmental degradation posing a major threat to human health.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a new generation technology which allows integration of small devices/gadgets with web based system .The devices send signals through sensors using constraint application protocol (CoAP), Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) etc. and interact with the web-based system using the HTTP protocol, So the existing solution architectures are getting extended.

We would like to welcome your ideas on how a smart waste management system using IoT can be implemented in order to achieve the target of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

It is pratically possible to use the waste in conversion to electricity. We can burnt this waste and we can use its thermal energy in generation of electricity . As we know many tonnes of waste are generated from our country day by day so if this idea can be used then electricity problem will be removed from our country with in a minute and also waste managment problem will be solved. But the main problem is that it require lot of fund.

Have a collection point in every city/taluka/town for collection of leftover food from restaurants/hotels. Poor people, beggars can come and collect food or eat at such collection point. Street animals can also be fed with leftover food. INCLUDE WASTE MANAGEMENT, FOOD MANAGEMENT AND SUCH TOPICS IN ALL INDIA SCHOOL EDUCATION CURRICULUM. IF WE EDUCATE AND INFORM CHILDREN/MOTHERS, ITS MORE EASY TO GET IT ACCEPTED AND IMPLEMENTED IN SOCIETY. PROCESS IS SIMPLER AND EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO ACCEPT.

As we know the problem of waste managment is one of the major problem in our country. But i have one idea by which we can easily manage our waste and not only problem of waste will be removed from our country but also problem of electricity will be removed. We can generate electricity from waste and can supply to those areas where electricity has not reach yet. And the additional waste generated after generating electricity is manure which can easily be used as fertilizer.

1. Food and other waste in Black bags. Special bags for garbage disposal, should be supplied at subsidized prices. LIGHT GREEN containers for this waste. 2. Paper, magazine, etc papers in separate DARK GREEN containers. 3. Every city/Taluka/Town should have a company for chemical waste handling. Battery, Chemical should be disposed off there. Penalty if done in normal waste. 4. Encourage HELP to entrepreneurs (tax or such) to create waste management/recycle companies, will generate employment

Waste management should be linked with science. In japan blust corporation has invented a machine to convert plastic to oil. Plastic is a menace. Drdo should find out a way to convert atmosphric co2 to petrol. So that excess co2 can be converted to crbon plus oxygen and allied substances. Climatic change can also be checked.find such solution instead of missiles.save human beings.....jai bharat...suresh mampillil

i think as a part of svachchh bharat it is not at the bottom level.... i am living in a village but i found that there is nothing like svachchh bharat campaingn in my village... so we have to make possible it as ground level... we can make a small story add for this waste management ... we can aware people and inhance them to do so.... as a PM modiji also can request to the nation what they did in give it up in plg subsidy... it always works.... but the main thing is make people aware abt this..

One third of the food produced globally is wasted, daily house holds waste is inclusive of biodegradable materials like left over food, peel of,garden waste etc which can be used to generate bio fuel along with manure if collected separately, this can be done by simply setting up a small plants in sectors themselves. To generate interest of residents we can award them the byproducts and manage the waste at locality level. #SwachhBharatAbhiyan, #CleanIndiaMission, #IoT, #SmartWasteManagement, #MyGov

I think we should start emphasis on how to reduce the waste generation first, then start working on its management, today if we buy anything,it has useless layers of packing on it,people buying a packet of milk asks for another poly to take it home, what if we bring small changes in he packaging of the products and create less waste, this was for large scale.#SwachhBharatAbhiyan, #CleanIndiaMission, #IoT, #SmartWasteManagement, #MyGov
