Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

An android app can be developed for info on scientific farming where details of all crops with correct methods is given. The app should have images and videos for illustration. It should detect the location of the user and give recommendations for the type of soil in that area.govt should do soil tests for all villages and load the results for that location user. The database should get updated from feedback from all users. Farmers should be able to ask questions from experts or other users

Today the farmers are unaware of the scientific methods of farming . govt should include agriculture as a subject for all classes till 10th and then as optional subjects in 11th and12. To promote this, students opting for agriculture could be given direct admission to agricultural colleges, loans to start scientific eqpt to these students. This way we will promote the most important occupation of India. The syllabus should be focused on theoretical and practical knowledge.Aim is sustainableagri

After trekking Bengal I have found out that it is a treasure tove. Planned agriculture and horticulture farming with three tier system and drip irrigation syatem can make this state turn around. In the Himalayan belt horticulture scientists have found out 3 Lakh medical plants. Commercial farming using the the slopes and three tier lots of items can be produced from the same flowing water. I am settling down and try to attempt it provided administration does not stand in my way.

I am implementing a SmartFarm in Detroit, USA 1) Reduce manual labor by using wireless drip irrigation system controlled by mobile to reduce manual labor. 2) Specific and personalized watering scheme based on local conditions to reduce water wastage. 3) Provide farmer with feedback about the optimum time to harvest crop. 4) Analysis of water requirements for better resource planning. Water is a precious resource and implementing smart solutions is the way to reduce dependence on rainfall.

We can club waste management and farming. Biodegradable wastes can be collected processed by wormicompost and used as fertilizer in farms. These fertilizers will be cheap as well as the produce will be organic saving money and a step towards swatch and swasthya Bharat

There are wrong myths in India about farming. People are doing it in a traditional way which people used to do long ago. Without observing and analysing the climatic conditions, farmers continue their farming using traditional timings and methods. For making farming profitable and worth making we must teach farmers how to use technology and to analyse the atmosphere. We must have focus on teaching them the new ways to do the business. They must know what to do according to the atmosphere.
