One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Today court proceedings were aborted due to condolence. I suggest that condolence meetings should be held after working hours or on the next holiday/coming Sunday. Government employees serve Indian people and they are paid for it,therefore, condolences should not be a burden on Indian people and exchequer.

Hon'ble Prime Minister sir, We the nation, have - by bringing a very big administrative reform - made transition from Sales Tax / Excise / Octroi Duty etc. to GST popularly known as Good and Simple Tax. However, I believe we need to bring in a much bigger tax policy change that can lower tax burden of common citizens and yet bring higher revenues needed for faster development of our nation. My thoughts on the subject are attached herewith.

Govt should stop making expenditure on physical meetings of officer. Many corporate in India use a software to do virtual meetings. It saves lot of money to them. Similarly govt could be benefit from it. The need to travel is minimized and most importantly time is saved.

Public is always worried about the corruption issue while allocating the tenders to contractors. Why don't govt consider a system where the contractor identifying data is hided in the software while making the decision. Hence the govt official will take the decision on appropriate parameters laid in the tender document.

Dear sir, I would like to applaud the govt. especially the PM for their good governance initiatives. My concern is about using Aadhar based biometric authentication in PDS. No doubt, it is the good move for right targeting of beneficiaries but before making it mandatory we need to address some of the issues related with it , as follows lack of proper infrastructure, poor internet connectivity,PoS machines availability and proper seeding of aadhar and ration card data- led to exclusion error

Please reduce the charges incurred on using debit card / net banking. Instead the focus should be to reduce the back office of bank and make more funds available through banking channel for investment in equity.

Instead of having so many means of communication just have one communication channel between govt and citizen. Tell all govt officials to be on the channel. Assign a request number to issue/ query raised by citizen. Make it mandatory on the part of officials to respond to each and every request.
