One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Sir Terrorists killed by bullets should not be given to family.Their last rites should be by govt agencies without public presence so gaining mass sympathy by terrorists groups can be avoided .

Sir, I came across the news that the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 is being amended to allow construction within the prohibited area. I believe that this would be extremely incorrect as we should be exerting more effort into conserving our monuments and artifacts. I was saddened at seeing the lax security and upkeep of Mirza Ghalib's home in Chandani Chowk. Please do not pass the amendment. We need to put more focus in conserving our heritage.

Sir, There's a rule of conduct for Central Government Staff-"Do not indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any woman at her workplace." Ref-Swamy's Handbook-2017, page-46, para-31. The ending "at her workplace"seems not appropriate. It decreases the effect of the rule. This needs to be reviewed. Regards, Ram Nivas Kumar Durgapuri, Malighat, Muzaffarpur (Bihar) 94 700 27048

Honourable PM,India is the hub center of IT.We can use latest technology to connect Police,Fire brigade and Ambulance nationwide with a single calling number like 911.We can then be able to send emergency personnel within 5 minutes to any location in India. I also wonder if it is possible to have disaster management Authority integrated to such a platform especially during CBRNe emergency and act of war and aggression.

Under PCPNDT act there is lot of restrictions on the use of ULTRASOUND. ULTRASOUND is a cheap and affordable imaging modality and its use must be encouraged. Best way to curb teh heniosu crime of female feticide is by more vigilance on medical terminations of pregnancy and not restring the use of ULTRASOUND. MBBS doctors must be allowed to do ultrasound.

Respected and Dear Modi Ji, If we look back to the reformations done by Chanakya, he took over intelligence in his hand to abolish the corrupt authorities in all fronts, I think it is missing in your case. 1.The CVC site is inconvenience and do not provide any receipt even after evidences are uploaded. 2.PMO and other ministries Public grievances cell has turn to only a mere formality, for reference the grievance number PMOPG/E/2017/0517454 and MODEF/E/2017/03678. Hello, Users!! My Suggestion is to remove reservation from the education system. There are many real situations. General category students are suffering because of the Current admission process. After securing high percentage, They are not eligible to take admission in Best college. or they have to pay whole fees as well! I’ve mentioned much real life incident in PDF attested! Source: Internet, Quora, Wikipedia. Please carefully read pdf attested. Please vote for better India, Thank you 🙂
