One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

INDIAN GOVERNMENT should be careful in signing treaties with other countries when it involves employment. GOI must ensure a fair treatment is meted out to Indian citizens working in other countries. Look at the treatment given to those who go to work in Middle East/Malaysia/Indonesia. A clear advisory should be released when a person applies for a visa. This has been happening a lot lately. Please don't make India just a supplier of cheap labor, there is something called respect.

RESERVATION SYSTEM right from education to a government job and promotions is a big blow in moving India forward. Families whose one generation has already used reservation should not be allowed use it further or should be requested to give up like a gas subsidy. If people are using reservation in education why they need a reservation in a job. There are many families/tribes (like Sidi) waiting to be included in the mainstream they should be able to avail reservation.

People would like to see following things: 1)How much money center give to each state in India, what schemes are sponsored by the centre. If some transparency is maintained then a political party in a state can't say that they didn't receive funds from the centre. 2) It should be mandatory for all state govts to release the info on their portal regarding the funds given to each district/city/village & work to be undertaken. So that authorities/MLA can't get away by citing senseless reasons.

many good suggestions I would add, not allowing street vendors on the street. This creates evermore congestion impeding forward movement. I recommend relocating them into a green space.

Use of "lakh" and "crore" in counting should be discontinued with. In tandem with universal units of counting, million should be used. No foreigner will understand "lakh" and "crore". The lowering of the national flag after sunset and raising of the national flag in the mornings should change. The national flag should fly irrespective of change of time, stage of day. An always fluttering flag shows a sleepless and indomitable nation. After sunset, does the nation go to sleep?
