One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Dear Sir, Many Rules Are Made For Traders, Businesses Or Upper Class. Though not Intentionally, IT Puts Poor Or Their Facilities At Loss. One Example Is Public State Transport. Where Taxis, Private Bus Operators, Vehical Manufacturing Companies, Government And Even Police Earn Much Money. Part Of The Money Is Actually Right Of Public State Transport Which Should Be Metaculously Set Aside By Rules. So Beneficiaries Will Not Suffer. There Are Many Such Examples, Parallel Support.

I am an engineer working in a PSU. I would expect our hon'ble PM to allow good exemption in the upcoming budget proposal for 18-19. My humble suggestion to the govt is : No tax upto 5lakh annual income. 5% tax slab from 5 to 10 lac. 10% tax from 10 to 20 lakh. 15% from 20 to 30 Lakh, 20% from 30 to 40 Lakh and 30% from 40 Lakh and above. Living cost, education cost of children have become very high. This suggested tax relief will give us enough purchase power which in turn will help industry.

Dear Sir, We Are Planning To Increase Farmer's Income By Many Ways. One Way Can Be To Increase Consumption Of Food. In fact We Are Compromising On Food. For This Food Process Licencing Be Made Easy And Free. Let People Do More n More Eatable Products. Food Licence Officers Serve As A Guide And Facilitator, Need To be Vigilant On Adulteration, By Which Farmer Loose Income Mostly. In short Govt Officials Need To Help People Earn, "Using Govt Rules Itself,Which Are In Fact Of Help"

We are short of police men in this country. At same time our list of VIP is exhaustive, being status symbol for many. Except for small list of really important VIPs with real threat, the "gunman" cover of remaining should be out sourced to private agencies. If those VIPs are poor BPL type, fund them by fixed allowance. This will free huge number of police men in every state. List of VIP in Center and every state be revised automatically based on fixed criteria every 3 months and published.

On 01 Jan 2018 a Psychopath Killed in cold blood 6 persons in 2 hours at night in a Hospital and around it in Haryana. He knew none of those klled. He was mentally unstable person deteriorating for last few weeks.Family knew about it. Law be framed to hold family, neighbours, health dept and Police accountable for such dangerous person roaming free in Society. Penal actions are required. It is not liberty of any one to kill others even as a schizophrenic. Police should have eye for such person.

Orange passport concept does not look good!. Passport is for international purpose not for national. Already some country do not give much respect to Indians and orange concept will .... Let us not issue passport for those who do not have matriculation Or keep matriculation mandatory to apply for passport Or make people understand matriculation is the minimum education for all Indians rather than grouping to two category.
