One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Dear PM Sir I have an idea regarding encouraging people to file income tax returns. Sir I suggest that you offer 50k/100k debit card to citizens who have an account for their financial needs however in return you ask them to file their income tax return and obtain the debit card from bank free of cost and interest for 1 year and thereafter you levy interest rate based on tax paid.by ensuring this you can make tax compliance and at the same time you can get the database of non filers.

Sir, I observe that Govt Offices have become a centre of trade for some employees and online shopping companies. The employees order their household goods addressed to their Offices and almost everyday one or two shopping agents arrive with their goods to deliver. This is a threat to our offices It is against our decorum It kills office environment. Also, it hinders office work. Hence, request that this practice in offices should be stopped. Regards Ram Nivas Kumar Muzaffarpur, B

Respected prime minister sir, I am an engineering graduate .I want to tell you sir that our whole fraternity of engineering students are messed up with their careers. The current scenario of employment of an engineer in private sector is worst and in government sector seats are very limited. In India every year 1.5 millions of engineers are passed out and there is no proper arrangement for their employment.when they search for jobs they are getting job in call centers and B.P.Os only.

sir, different govt delpartments/PSU's recruit/fill up vacancies by conducting their own exam.It creates avoidable burden on the candidates as well as PSU's/Govt Departments. My suggestion is that all such Vacancies of the Govt Departments/PSU's should be filled up through SSC(Staff Selection commission) or UPSC only. Vacancies of Engineering cadre should be filled up on the basis of GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineerig) only.

Dear Finance Minister Sir, It is requested that the rs 1000/- per month fixed medical allowance provided to retd. central govt. employees should be exempted from Income tax. It should not be taken as income from other sources as medical expenses in old age are much higher. This step will provide a lot of relief to Senior citizens.

This is regarding RTE (Right to Education) - I believe the policy of "passing" all students till 8th Grade has been scrapped. However, I don't see this getting implemented at State-Level. At least in Maharashtra - schools are waiting to get Administrative order of scrapping of policy and going back to old method. This need to be taken at WAR-priority. Since our education system is just producing "Rattoo-popet" generation. Which is really bad of Country. Please scrap the policy and implement ASAP
