One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

Coming to roads, whenever a road is resurfaced the area around a manhole has a depression and it becomes a death trap specifically for a two-wheeler as slows down to avoid being tripped or at times is struck by a speeding vehicle following from behind. it may be the main cause of accidents. The contractor and municipal engineer responsible for the same should be booked for culpable homicide or attempt to murder and in this cases many times in a day. special court should start trial without delay

Respected Sir, Accept my heartfelt reverence. My suggestions are: (A)I am requesting you to bring changes in Income tax rules to bring out our senior citizens living on pension and interest income from the liability of paying any tax. (B) I am also requesting you to bring changes to the rules relaing to toll tax paid in National Highways for exempting all Group A Government officers holding vaild identitity cards and travelling on duty from paying toll tax.

Develop an application for every people on which they can complain about their problems and wrong activities happening in their cities. Just select area of problem , city and with description they can share their problem with government. Attach aadhar for people identification and raise ticket number of their problem so he/she can track status of problem solved.

Get serious and do what is committed. If you are willing to change rules and regulations for easing lives of citizens there are hundreds of areas you can act. Some of them are listed below. For years there have been schemes and notifications about the conveyance of land to be handed over to societies once they are formed but it does not happen. Builders hang on to the title on the land with tacit support of all the govt machinery. The common man keeps suffering.

Respected Modiji, All the best wishes too you. Sir we can remove the rules for filling form 15H for senior citizens for non deduction of tax at source. It is very difficult for senior citizen to get the blank form ,fill it up, sign it and again deposite it to Bank or Post office where ever they have invested. If they take help of some outsider then a chance of fraud taking place is there. Moreover if this rule is abolished then we can save time, paperwork, money, energy and trees. Thanks

Dear ModiJi, my suggestion is for improving the lives of small scale farmers. I request you to deposit Rs 5000/- per acre, maximum of 5 acres twice in account of the farmers. This way the farmers will get Rs 10000/- per year per acre free of cost. I am sure this pradhamantri Kisan bandhu yojana will not only help the farmers but will ensure your victory in 2019. We want to be our PM for next term also. Pl accept this in your policy and announce it on 15th august and in Mann ki baat. Jaihind .
