1. Reducing transmission losses - Currently more the 20% of the electricity is wasted in transmission losses. Efforts should be made around reducing these losses. Underground transmission cables are one such option.
2. Encourage use of renewable sources of energy - Solar energy hasn't tapped to its full potential due to its high initial cost. Government should provide incentives to promote this.
3. Increase awareness on saving electricity.

The check on electric power theft should be taken as challenge. All states must make plan for that in a time frame. Those who honestly pay, they are sufferers. I feel that against power theft there must be strict law. Political parties should also not make this resource as tool of politics.

one such proposal came to one of the colleges in kherva(gujarat).BUT Politics didn't let it develop. THIS would lead to decrease in the production of electricity by fossil fuel hence, reducing pollution.THANKING you for this system of discussion. Hope you will pay heed.

First of all this suggestion is applicable to all places of india. sun, as mentioned by all the people dicussing in this group is biggestsource of energy. The best way is to set up solar panels in desert regions(thar in gujarat gets max. energy). this will make them self-reliant & increase their economic importance.solar panels can be on the teracces of large buildings & colleges. this would make electricity cheaper for them. If electricity is produced in excess, then it can sold to gov. also.

Sun is a reliable source of energy we can utilize the energy by smart and efficiently by using solar panel and (on grid inverter without battery setup). If we are using battery system the cost of the system will not be affordable by individual and not cost effient. So if we are using the technology to tie up with EB main grid and by using net energy meter which will run in both direction will enable us to pay for net useage. Approximately 1kva system will cost 80000/- with gov subsidy much cheep
