The availability of reliable quality and affordable electricity helps in the rapid agriculture, industrial and overall economic development of a State/U.T. In its endeavour to develop Chandigarh as a Smart City, the Chandigarh Administration is committed to improve the quality of life of its residents by providing access to electricity round the clock i.e. 24x7 to all the Villages, Colonies and Sectors of U.T., Chandigarh.

The methodology to bring reforms in the distribution of power supply has to be developed in consultation with various stakeholders of the city. The Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration is responsible for supply of electricity in U.T., Chandigarh. As of now almost all the area getting sufficient power supply throughout the day, but still there is some of the shadow area in which power supply is problematic. Chandigarh Administration would ensure that all the necessary steps are taken in terms of power procurement, strengthening the required transmission and distribution network, energy efficiency measures, undertaking customer centric initiatives, reduction of losses, grievance redressal, etc.

Therefore, Chandigarh Administration would welcome ideas, views, opinions and suggestions from all its residents so that objective of 24x7 quality, reliable and affordable electricity for all could be achieved.

The main problem in lack of development is the upper bureaucracy staffed with IAS officers. From the rank of JS and above, the posts should be open to all Govt employees including from the PSUs. There should be a healthy competition and the person best fitted for a job should be selected. In the present scenario, an IAS officer is the only one running against fellow IAS officers. The selection committee should not be filled with IAS officers but should have people from academics, science, arts.

Dear Sir, We have to be very cautious when we are moving from non renewable to renewwable energy resources, present cost of electricity through solar panel is more than 100% that of thermal generation energy, that too so much of subsidy has already given to solar panel companies. till the time we will not manufactur part for solar panel in india that too in cheap rate this problem is not going to solve #ChandigarhAdministration, #PowerSector, #PowerSupply, #MyGov

Sir according to me you have to open a electric power station in every sector of Chandigarh or with in group of 4-5 sec. they will take the responsibly of these sector and area . you also have to check correct power usage of every house and according to that manage the power distributions. make strict rules for worker of Electric board and also for the power user like us. order the electric board to make all power cable tit check all the areas and search for electrics stealer.
