Municipal Corporation of Madurai has received overwhelming response from its citizen in smart city suggestions and ideas to improve their city under Smart City Challenge.

On the basis of lakhs (both offline and online) of suggestions received from citizens of Madurai, the Draft Smart City Proposal is prepared for the City which encompasses different aspirations and dreams to be realized for the Madurai city.

The vision foresees Madurai city as the one which, along with fostering its distinctive heritage character, ensures the well-being of its citizens in a sustainable manner. The proposal is outlined along these lines.
