Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

1.3 due to large in strength ,after 3-4 hours ,students do not take interest in study. along with study sports must be included and adjusted.verbal education should be emphasized .there should be amendments in RTE so that previous policies could be applied again and grading system should be stopped immediately.

syllabus should be according to age of students. without pre-primary classes,syllabus does not remain according to the age of student.

Elementary schooling may be devided in two or three levels. First level may include pre primary and class first and second ,taught by ECCE (EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION) Teachers. Second level class third - eighth may have time table and taught by teachers specialised in their subject.
