Municipal Corporation, Faridabad has used a multifaceted approach for citizen engagements for smart city proposal exercise and utilized both online and offline modes extensively i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Smart city Faridabad Website, Mygov.in, Consultation Camps, e-kiosks, Robots etc.

A series of activities were executed including vision survey forms distribution, discussion threads on MyGov.in, Consultation camps with schools, colleges, industries, civilians, councillors, media etc., NukkadNatak to mobilise people, e-kiosks and mobile Kiosk vans for written suggestions, painting competitions etc. The suggestions received were compiled and analysed to formulate a cohesive vision for the city. Every nook and corner of the city was accessed and every stakeholder from the full spectrum set of demographics including socio-economics, education qualification, Job profile, location and age group were targeted and accessed.

Hon'ble PM said smart city, our legislators heard smart area. Why only certain pockets of city getting developed as smart city is beyond my comprehension, why shouldn't it be started from one end if it needs to be done phase wise. Why only elite/posh areas got selected for the program? Does that mean common citizen has no right to evolve in a smart city? This neutralizes the very basic idea of inclusive growth in so called #Smartcity.
