India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

IF WE REALLY WANT TO SAVE GIRLS FOETICIDE & EDUCATE THEM WE MUST ENFORCE WITH 100 % STRICTNESS,DOWRY/PARENTAL PROPERTY LAWS. IT SHOULD NOT BE MANDATORY NOR CUSTOMARY FOR BRIDES ALONE TO GO TO HUSBAND'S HOUSE AFTER MARRIAGE,RATHER BRIDEGROOMS ALSO BE BROUGHT TO BRIDE'S FAMILY,IF CIRCUMSTANCES SO WARRANT.GIRLS CAN HEAD THE FAMILY. WOMAN SHOULD HAVE RIGHT TO FEED/TAKE REGULAR CARE OF HER PARENTS/BROTHERS SISTERS AND ALSO THEIR FUNERAL RIGHTS.ALL THIS WILL BRING IN GENDER EQUALITY IN REAL SENSE.

First priority of the Government should be about Healthy India. People should be healthy. Health should be given first priority. There are so many people who cannot afford money in these private Hospital. I think the Government should take out some schemes for these people

My mother is in the hospital at Fortis in New Delhi Shalimar Bagh. She has put one stent. The Bill has come to 2 lakhs . How do u expect people to pay. We cannot afford it. The government needs to help people who do not have Medical Insurance and also appeal to these private hospital not to fleece people

Dear Mr. Modi I would like to bring to your notice that my parents who are old they do not have any mediclaim and they are financially not well off. They are dependent on their daughters. The hospitals in our country really fleece them. Even if we beg them that they cannot afford but still they have become very commercial and only bothered about money. I think please do something for old people who need health insurance and give them some health benefits from Government.
