Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

Use ATM Machines for voting for all those voters who use ATM cards. For this, ATM machine will ask the user to first vote and then it will allow any transaction. Thus voting percentage will increase. Polling booths will be required only for those voters who do not use ATM Cards. No additional arrangement will be required, only provision in the software of ATM will have to be done. It will substantially enhance voting percentage and reduce the cost.

Hello sir I Lakshya belongs from rural area and I think to make India a developed country we need to firstly develop the rural area instead of urban area. Here i saw that a large number of child group does not go to school and know nothing about computer and additional tech.I had heard about you digital India plan but what its use if they are no able to obtain knowledge and experience from it so choose the well qualified operators by your`s team selection not by gram pradhans that`s all......

For reducing the cost of conducting elections and for Increasing voting percentage elections, govt should use ATM Machines for voting for all those voters who use ATM cards. For this, ATM machine will ask the user to first vote and then it will allow any other transaction. Thus voting percentage will increase. Polling booths will be required only for those voters who do not use ATM Cards. No additional arrangement will be required, only provision for voting in the software will have to be done.

Lets us first create the correct infrastructure for digital India before we start it. Most sites that have been launched by Govt do not even open correctly with the infrastructure available. The designers put lot of images to make sites pretty and most of the time only images download and links seldom open. Realize that we do not have fast internet every where so the sites should be designed with minimum images and most texts as texts open faster! Dr Sharma 09826543397
