Belagavi is the oldest city in Karnataka with a rich history and culture. It is the 4th largest city in the state and the fastest growing urban center. Belagavi is also a business hub and education center of Karnataka. The city has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development for development as one of the 100 smart cities in India.

Belagavi City Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal with an intent to plan and provide smart solutions to urban infrastructure issues of the city and welcomes the citizens of Belagavi to post their views, opinions, thoughts and plans on smart solutions for their infrastructure needs related to water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, storm water drainage, housing, amenities related to recreational activities, sports facilities, energy efficiency, non-motorized transport, safety, electrification, open space development and management, healthcare, education, public transport, key infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, roads, underpasses, over-bridges, services such as e-governance tools etc. Inputs from citizens is crucial for framing a vision for tomorrow’s Belagavi and to get shortlisted as one among the top 20 cities in the first year, in the Smart City Challenge.

Come, let’s together make Belagavi a thriving and vibrant smart city.

Smart City Needs Smart Electricity, Being one among the vital requirement of smart city. Electricity is a key infrastructural element for economic growth. 1)Belagavi City needs one Alternate 220KV Station with independent source 2) Strengthening of existing 110KV Transmission line Network to have alternate lines to cater peak load of city during breakdown of transmission line , to provide 24x7 electricity

1.Public toilets are to be constructed at Govse, RPD College and other public places to maintain the public hygiene of city 2.Pan Spitting should be brought under law as it is done for smoking and Automatic burning (oven) system should be installed. 3.Automatic Mobile currency Recharging machines to be developed and installed around the city for easy recharge (As ATM machines )

Proper and periodic public transport needs to be implemented covering entire area of Belagavi.Over bridge near 3rd gate and Kapileshwar is much needed.Restricting heavy vehicles into the city .Tourism spots needs to be improved alot.

City buses need to be more clean. Strictly avoid the domestic animals(buffaloes) to be brought on the roads. They affect the traffic and also make roads dirty by excretion. There are alternative ways to provide fodder to animals. Plant more trees.

sulabha sochalay to be built in city on every lanes corner Or Existing to be maintained and in extension areas within range like every 2 km, and should see to it that people use these facility. If we need healthy and clean belgaum we have to do this.

The state government or district administration should setup up or install proper E - Waste collection centre in Belagavi city to properly dispose off  all electronic waste instruments
