Railway station situated in heart of the Belagavi city is one of the major hurdles in proper development of the City, more so a smart city. It is necessary to shift the Railway Station outside the Urban Agglomeration area of Belagavi city to make it smart city in true sense

Smart City! What does it feel like being in a smart city without smart roads? For me the state of roads in any city define how smart the city is! Recent statistics of road accidents in Karnataka as per the data listed on https://data.gov.in/catalog/total-number-persons-killed-road-accidents-india the number of accidents has only increased from 2003-2011; following being the stats for the years starting with 2003 to 2011
6,195 6,496 6,904 7,973 8,777 8,814 8,714 9,590 8,971

This is a sincere request to Planning Authorities, Please include local Architects, Urban Designers, Economist, Socialists and Thinkers on the panel of Town Planning board/ City Corporation board, as locals have much better understanding of our own city than anyone who sits in metros/ center office and jots down development plan irrespective of local knowledge. There are many talented persons in the City talking very sensible plans but don't get opportunity to present their views. #Belagavi

To ensure to growth in commerce and avoid traffic a second level railway station is required in Belgaum in Piranwadi- macche area. in this location goods railway halt is provided. Also warehouse facility to food grains sugar fertilizers should be provided. It reduces traffic of the city and depending on main railway station
