Bareilly is one of the candidate city for Smart City Mission from the state of Uttar Pradesh and is participating in the challenge Round2 by submitting its improved Smart City Proposal. BMC is the nodal agency for Smart City project and is continuous efforts for strengthening its proposal with all round participation from various stakeholders and diverse groups.
BMC has already organised various consultations with groups and the suggestions were well received and are being incorporated within the Smart City proposal for the city.
Following is the list of suggestions which were received during various consultations. You are request to give your valuable feedback and suggestions to improve quality of proposals.
-Retrofit and Redevelopment is best suited for a city like Bareilly instead of a Greenfield project;
-Area selected for Area Based Development shall benefitmajority of population;
-Proposal shall be built upon strengths and opportunity of the city and these shall also minimise weakness and threats;
-Handicrafts shall form a major component of ABD proposals as well as Pan City proposals;
-Skill Development and new job opportunities shall be imbibed within the SCP;
-Infrastructure and services shall be rehabilitated and strengthened;
-Non-Conventional Sources such as Solar Energy and Rain Water Harvesting shall be encouraged;
-Underground Wiring and 24x7 Electricity Supply.
-24x7 Water Supply with water recycling.
-Rejuvenation of natural features such as parks and water bodies;
-Solid Waste Management and Sewage Treatment shall also be form part of SCP;
-Governance shall be improved with introduction of ICT based solutions;
-Developing GIS based data platform for improving governance and enhance various services such as tax payment, recovery of taxes, faster grievances resolution etc.
-Traffic and parking problems in the city should be solved with integrated control centres
-Pedestrian and NMT facilities shall be provided along each major road.
-MOUs to be signed with all potential stakeholders and partners to strengthen SCP.
-PPP based projects shall be encouraged to increase feasibility of projects.
