Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

too much corruption is happening in the journey.suppose a passenger book a sleeper ticket from A via B to C. Railways are giving WL Seats to some passengers to get confirmation through cancellation. What is happening in trains is Ticket examiners are giving confirmation of tickets by recieving extra money from the passengers( bribe).railways should introduce new ticket reservation software so as to get confirmation through the software itself.

Sreenivasa Rao Karade- 9493396395 1. At the unmanned level crossing, setting up Red light flashed signals automatically to focus at the each side direction of public - passers by. so that they can stop and wait until train goes by.

Sir plz provide a stopage to 11037 Pune gorakhpur express at ahmednagar station bcoz it is a big canotment area for our proud army and the number of trains towards poorvanchal area is limited. So faciltating of this service will benefit many of the soilders moving towards 'poorvanchal' area.

I'm thankful an opportunity given for me to express my views - Sreenivasa Rao Karade.--------- To avoid accidents at unmanned level crossings, basically it's good establishing and setting up railway control signals at the unmanned crossing gates apart from the usual signals. As the time of train passes before 10mts over from that place it should have to be warned signal flashing with red light. So that every one stopped there and to wait until the train crossed by. -Sreenivasa Rao Karade.

एम्बुलेंस के आगे १ कैमरा लगा होना चाहिए जो एमर्जेन्सी के समय साइरन चालू होने के बाबजूद जो लोग तत्काल रास्ता नहीं देते उनके चालान बनना चाहिए।

In long run deploying of a manpower is not advisable as it had lot of limitations and again a system is not foolproof. In next ten years, the traffic volume will multiply. Keeping the future requirement, Over-bridge is the ultimate solution

Barricades should be setuped with 24*7 guards facilities on each road crossings. And if possible then railings on both sides of track or railway property with on gap of 50meter distance advertising boards for commercial and awareness ads. purposes. One side it will economically benefit railway and can control over chain pulling-running,theft cases and can control over sanitation/dustbin system on tracks & railway property. If it comes true then thousands & lakhs people's lives would be saved.

AUtomatic level crossing gates may be fixed where the road traffic is less .l. Special type pressure switch on the track with sensors be used to recognise front and rear wheel of trains. , It will automatically drop and lift the level crossing gate ..Only one gateman with master switch can oversee the operation of the gate. In case of emergency he can signal stopping of incoming train at a safe distance.
