An initiative of Govt. of India under the Nirbhaya funds scheme, for ensuring safety of women and children. The Safe City project aims to create a safe, secure and empowering environment for women in public places, to enable them to pursue all opportunities without the threat of gender-based violence and/or harassment.
This scheme aims to prevent and curb all forms of crimes against women and girl children in public places by providing safer urban infrastructure and efficient access to law enforcement agencies.
In this regard, the Department of Urban Development – Government of Uttar Pradesh in collaboration with MyGov - Digital India Corporation is hosting a Logo Design Contest for safe city platform where we will be inviting citizens to show their creativity and create a suitable Logo that can be easily relatable to the concept of the safe city platform for its popularization and broader outreach.
Safe cities in India:
The Empowered Committee under Nirbhaya fund has approved Safe City projects in 8 selected cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow).
Initiative taken by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh to make its cities safe:
The government of Uttar Pradesh is focussing on making 18 cities of the state as safe cities in the phase I. All Nagar Nigams of the State viz., Agra, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Bareilly, Firozabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow (already selected), Moradabad, Meerut, Mathura, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Shahjahanpur, Varanasi and Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Theme of Uttar Pradesh Safe City Logo:
UP Safe City Logo must be of U.P. centric theme and in line with the pattern of existing safe city:
Expectation from the competition:
You are required to come up with a creative approach towards combining UP State based Theme and conceive a logo to be put in the shape of the existing Safe City Logo as mentioned, to be submitted on MyGov.in portal, accompanying with a short note on the concept the logo signifies. The concept note shall comprise of your Contact details with a passport size photo and Aadhaar Number for verification purpose. The contact details shall not be revealed to any external party until selection process is completed.
Process of Shortlisting
Your Logo entry must be submitted in a “ LOGO-Your Name. JPEG / PNG / SVG / PDF” file name Format with minimum 300 DPI and max size of 20cm height, no restriction in other dimension. Any deviation from the said specification shall be liable to disqualify.
Your logo shall consist of your proper name written in the canvas space, outside the boundaries of the logo, for identification purpose and later to be cropped out, after selection, for final usage. All usage rights shall be under the Department of Urban Development, and the selected entry will not be liable for any claims whatsoever.
All the entries shall be scrutinized and short listed based on best concept note, correct format and creative imagination used, by a selection committee.
Technical Parameters:
1. Participants should upload the logo in JPEG / PNG / SVG / PDF format only.
2. The logo should be designed on a digital platform.
3. The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the design in an editable and open file format.
4. Participants should ensure that the original designs are submitted.
5. Each entry should submit a detailed logic and explanation of rational and creative thoughts (not more than 100 words) on the designed logo in
a soft copy.
6. The logo should be designed in a colored format.
7. The logo should be usable on the website/ social media such as Twitter/ Facebook, press releases, and on printable such as stationery,
signage, labels, etc., magazines, commercials, holdings, standees, brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, souvenirs, and other publicity and
marketing material for the promotion of Safe City.
8. The logo image should be in high resolution with a minimum of 300 DPI.
9. Logo should look clean (not pixilated or bit-mapped) when viewed on-screen at 100%.
10. Entries should not be submitted in compressed or self-extracting formats.
11. The logo design should not be imprinted or watermarked.
12. The Logo should be in context of Uttar Pradesh state
13. Last date of submission is 31st July 2023 latest by 6:00 PM
Evaluation Criteria:
1.The entries will be judged will be selected on the basis following criteria:
- Alignment to Name and overall theme of Safe City
- Creativity
- Originality
- Simplicity
- Inspirational element
2.In case of more than the required winners in any category, further selection shall be done with the help of Draw.
3.The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the contestants and no clarifications would be issued to any
participants or any decision of the Selection Committee.
Rewards:
The Selected Entry shall be rewarded with a cash prize worth Rs. 21,000.
