Providing a digital identity to all individuals is crucial to facilitate electronic authentication for delivery of online public services. The digital identity must be unique, lifelong, online and authenticable. The digital identity should be easily verifiable in an online and cost-effective way. Aadhaar provides such a digital identity that also serves as a proof of identity and address for individuals. If such a digital identity could be linked to mobile phones in a secure manner, it would make the task of online authentication much easier at the level of the individual. As the penetration of mobile phones is high, this digital identity will facilitate the delivery of online services more easily.

\

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on how mobile phones and digital identity could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities. The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, etc. You can upload your ideas in doc or pdf format.

Using mobile phones as Instruments for Digital Identity is a good concept. But the main hindrance will be storage of all information at the mercy of mobile phones & in case the same gets lost or theft happens, then the misery will multiply. So to introduce this concept first of all we have to ensure the safety of all the date that will be stored in it.

1. Aadhaar should be made as USER ID to login for any online access. No need to make registration. The sharing of private and government data should linked with Unique ID.

To integrate mobile with Adhaar card, fingerprints can be used. It is possible to use detachable fingerprint devices with cheap mobile phones to capture the fingerprint. This fingerprint can then be sent to the UID servers for verification via analog or data lines as the availability might be. On verification a sms could be sent to the user with a temporary code that could be used for transactions. Depending on the exact use case or requirements I can help in working out a high level design

the present trend is all about smart phones. My idea is selling old mobiles which has no modern technology or if we think then all who are having these type mobiles can give their mobiles to the villagers even they can teach how to make a call how to get information.Government need not to spend money to these mobiles and these mobiles also dont ever stick in storerooms they will be useful to some others. Atleast we can reach the rural people in this way to know their problems.

Using mobile phones as instrument, SMS based application/file tracking system can be developed in a way that any individual may know the status of his application OR the head of any organisation may be knowing how many and to whom files are pending in his organisation.A demo version of such software is attached for testing and viability
