“Setu Bharatam” is an ambitious program to ensure Railway Crossing less National Highways by 2019. In order to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has envisaged a plan for replacement of all the Level Crossings on National Highways by ROBs/ RUBs and replacement/ widening/ strengthening of weak and narrow bridges under” Setu Bharatam”.

Under this program, a total number of 208 Level Crossings have been identified for replacement by constructing ROBs in time bound manner. In addition, approximately 1500 bridges shall also be improved by replacement/widening/ strengthening in a phased manner.

Ministry of Road Transport & Highways invites entries from the public for suggesting Logo for “Setu Bharatam”

Last date for submission of entries: 31st May, 2016.

Selected entry will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 25000/- (Rs. Twenty Five Thousand only)

Setu Bharatam The logo denotes bridging distance between the long geographical areas pan India which is not only connecting cities through highways, but also culture, diversities, religions and people.

This logo explicitly shows the ROBs and RUBs using track and road, but when you carefully look at it you could find the letter "S" in the form of road and "B" in the form of track and road together,the first letter of both SETU and BHARATAM.

I made logo for setu bharatam. Here Safron line for Setu and Green line is the symbol of road and railway lines

Logo:This is an abstract logo which consists of two mirrored and then flipped parts. The two horizontal parallel lines (with the vertical lines between them)represent the railway track and the curved lines represent the bridge. Thus, we have have a symbolic rail over bridge and rail under bridge coming together to form the 'S' of Setu Bharatam. Colors of the national flag have been used since it is a national level project which would add to our nation's pride. Megha Mehta (Architect,age 32)
