Unleash your creativity to make our roads safer!
The Short Film Contest for Safer Roads organised by the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), IIT Madras, under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), in collaboration with MyGov, invites filmmakers, students, and storytellers to create powerful short films that highlight responsible road behaviour. Through compelling visuals and meaningful narratives, participants can inspire awareness, spark conversations, and promote positive change on Indian roads.
Technical Parameters:
a. Preferred video formats: MP4 (H.264 codec) (most accepted), MOV (Apple ProRes / H.264)
b. Resolution: 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) – standard 3840 × 2160 (4K) – optional
c. Frame rate: 24 fps / 25 fps / 30 fps
d. Aspect ratio: 16:9 (most festivals) 1.85:1 or 2.39:1 (cinematic – optional)
e. Include a brief description (250+ words)
f. Submission of video link (Online Drive link with public view access)
Winner Selection Criteria:
Winners will be evaluated by a jury based on:
i. The clarity of the road safety message
ii. Creativity of storytelling
iii. Visual and technical quality (including cinematography, editing, sound, and overall production)
iv. Originality (no plagiarism)
v. Adherence to rules (duration, format, and other guidelines)
vi. Relevance to real-world road safety issues
vii. Overall effectiveness in promoting safe practices.
viii. All entries must comply with the submission terms and conditions.
Gratification:1.) First winner to receive prize money of ₹20,000/-.
2.) Second winner to receive prize money of ₹12,500/-.
3.) Third winner to receive prize money of ₹7,500/-.
