I heard that during initial days of Silicon Valley, when HP, IBM such companies are starting up, there was electronics group together happening regularly. If such infrastructure is provided in each city of India, India can be knowledge hub of the world.

As a mining engineer, I have worked for 18 years in Indian mining and for last 6.5 years have been working in Australian mining sector. The major difference that I have seen is the "hands-on" work experience, for example after graduating I started as shift in-charge & managing men in India while here a graduate starts with truck or other equipment driving in mine. Indian academics is one of the best but practical work needs to be strengthened. Community service right from schools is important.
