Name and Logo Design Contest for The Delhi International Film Festival

Delhi Tourism & Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) in collaboration with MyGov, proudly announces the upcoming “The Delhi International Film Festival”; a vibrant celebration of cinema and culture that brings together filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across India and around the world.
To craft a distinct and impactful identity for the festival, Delhi Tourism invites creative individuals, design professionals, students, and the public at large to participate in a Name and Logo Creation Competition. Seeking entries which will define the festival’s unique personality.
I. Theme for Participation
Participants are encouraged to envision their submissions that reflect the following core ideas:
1. Delhi as a cultural and cinematic capital of India.
2. The celebration of diversity, inclusion, and storytelling through films.
3. The fusion of tradition and modernity in artistic expression.
4. Delhi International Film Festival as a platform for emerging voices and international collaboration in cinema
5. Inspire curiosity, excitement, and engagement for the festival
II. Participation Guidelines
(i) For Name:
1. The proposed name must be original, easy to remember, and relevant to both Delhi and cinema.
2. The name should avoid clichés and be appealing to both national and international audiences.
3. Maximum of 5 words allowed for the name.
4. Provide a brief rationale (max 50 words) explaining the meaning and relevance.
(ii) For Logo:
1. Upload the logo in JPG, PDF, or PNG format created on a digital platform. Other formats may be requested.
2. The winning designer must provide an editable open file (AI, EPS, or SVG).
3. Each submission must be original and must not infringe any law, including the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
4. Comment with a brief rationale (max 100 words) explaining the concept and colour choices.
5. The design should be usable across web, social media, press releases, stationery, signage, standees, brochures, souvenirs, and other publicity material, and must display clearly at 300 DPI when viewed at 100% size.
6. Entries shall not carry watermarks and must not be sent in compressed or self-extracting archives.
III. Technical Parameters
(i) For Logo:
1. Preferred size range is 5 cm × 5 cm to 30 cm × 30 cm, square or rectangular, portrait or landscape.
2. Must look crisp on both dark and light backgrounds and remain legible in monochrome.
3. Fonts, if used, should either be converted to curves/outlines or included with the editable file.
4. May be created in RGB but must convert accurately to CMYK for print.
5. The logo should be designed in colour.
6. Animated logos are also welcome.
(ii) For Name:
1. Must be in clear, legible text and adaptable to various design and marketing formats.
2. Should be easy to pronounce and understand by a global audience
IV. Evaluation Criteria
Entries will be judged by an expert panel based on:
1. Alignment with the Delhi International Film Festival’s vision and identity.
2. Creativity, originality, and distinctiveness.
3. Relevance to cinema and cultural celebration.
4. Impact and memorability across different media platforms.
5. Adaptability for marketing and promotional use
V. Gratification
Winning Name and Logo creators will be credited across all festival platforms and receive:
(i) Name Category Winner – ₹30,000/- and Certificate of Recognition from Delhi Tourism.
(ii) Logo Category Winner – ₹70,000/- and Certificate of Recognition from Delhi Tourism.
(iii) Winning entries will be prominently featured in all festival publicity, including print, digital, and event venues
(iv)Top 3 entries for name and logo each will receive Certificates of Appreciation from Delhi Tourism.
