Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, in collaboration with MyGov, is organizing a Vlog-Making Contest for students, teachers, and researchers on the theme: India in Numbers: Story of Progress
Competition Overview
Share your 1-2 min data-story telling audio and video content based on the national developments indicated by the statistical data generated by MoSPI (e.g. higher economic growth, improvement in female participation in labour force, higher uses of UPI for personal and business, higher digital inclusion, higher health access, higher educational attainment, or better infrastructure growth etc.). You may add the local community-based reflection connected to such development.
Participants are encouraged to transform raw statistical data available on the MoSPI website in the various reports / micro data site / e-Sankhyiki portal, into compelling visual stories, enhancing data literacy and creative communication skills.
Target Audience:
Students, data enthusiasts, content creators, and professionals interested in data visualization and storytelling.
Submission Guidelines
How to Participate:
i. Select any dataset generated by MoSPI and create a vlog of 1-2 minutes that interprets and presents the data in an engaging narrative.
ii. Share it on your social media (X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) with the hashtags #StatsForNation and #GOIStatsForYou
iii. Don’t forget to tag @goistats(Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) so that we can spot your creation.
iv. Share the link of your reel on MyGov. (Participants can paste the link of the videos uploaded on a social media platform in the Word/PDF file.
Language: English or Hindi, with subtitles if possible.
Originality: Content must be original and not previously published.
Judging Criteria
i. Clarity of Data Interpretation (30%): Accuracy and clarity in presenting statistical information.
ii. Creativity & Storytelling (30%): Innovative approach to narrating the data story.
iii. Visual & Audio Quality (20%): Production quality, including visuals, sound, and editing.
iv. Engagement (20%): Ability to captivate and maintain viewer interest.
Evaluation:
All the entries received by the stipulated date and found in order would be assessed by a committee of judges for selecting the entries.
The Committee will shortlist the entries and decide the winner.
Awards & Recognition
i. The top 10 winners will be rewarded with ₹25,000/- each
ii. The next 20 winners will be rewarded with ₹15,000/- each
iii. Winners will also receive digital certificates.
