Two projects of ecological restoration in India found a lot of acceptance - 1. Ecological restoration of Ahar River, Udaipur - NGO initiative - very useful in revival of aquatic biodiversity & livelihood of rural population 2. Buddha nallah restoration - Government initiative - yet to be completed but partially effective in reduction in Satluj pollution

We need to think ahead of existing best practices in the world, because Ganga is polluted much beyond any rivers in the world. So we need Innovative approaches and method to clean her, if we copy something from somewhere in the world, we are copying their problems also and it will not be a solution to our mother Ganga's Problem. 1. Reverse extraction of toxic wastes 2. Develop sweet water Mangroove forests along the banks which absorbs toxic wastes and also prevent soil erosion.
