The goal of Swachh Bharat is to provide access for every person to:-
Sanitation facilities including Toilets, Solid and Liquid Waste Disposal Systems, and clean surroundings.

We have to achieve this by 2019 as a befitting tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary.

Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA), the Goal is now to make India Open Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2019 by construction of individual, cluster & community toilets; and villages will be kept clean, including through solid and liquid waste management through Gram Panchayats. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Govt. of India seeks entries for design a Logo for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.  The last date of submission is 19th September, 2014.  The winning entry will be awarded a  cash prize of Rs.50,000/-.

Logo has evolved from the word "Swachh", it is an abstract form of letter "S”. This symbol is combination of chain link and hand with a mop which reflects the need to unite all and splurge an awakening about public hygiene & cleanliness with the help of all the stake holders, which can definitely make India more proactive in the area of public hygiene & cleanliness, more than that, a better place on earth to live in. The flower with Indian flag in the centre reflects a pure and clean India.

Pure& Undisturbed water:rate of purity &disturbance of our environment.Bharat map:prospective of Bharat towards environment.Men& women circle:Tightly bonded dedicated helping hands celebrating success of swachh Bharat Aviyan.White circle:Bonding must be stood on the basis of TRUTH.Green:relation of swachhta to the plant& soil on which life depends.Shiny saffron color:Selfless work for swachhta as well as the rising sun which represents robust optimism.

This Logo for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan represents the four major pillars to make India clean. 1. First sign inside the logo represents the better sanitation facilities everywhere in India. 2. Second sign represents the proper disposal of waste to make surroundings clean. 3. Third logo represents the purity of water by avoiding the waste disposal in the rivers. 4. The fourth and the last pillar represents the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to ensure optimum utilization of resources.
