The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Logo contains Mouse as representations of Digitization. Mouse backgrounds contains 0-1,as binary digits, color as Indian flag. Digital India..logo represents letter "d" for digital and i for india..letter i also represents binary digits 1 and 0.

The logo concept: Logo design derives from first letters D and I from the main title. Here the DI also stands for binary code 01 since the number 0 has the connection to our country's vedic mathematics root. Also the letter 'D' symbolizes the magnet which stands for pulling force of centralised network for all the departments and speedy digital services to all. Thanks and all the best to all, Yolraj CN

Digital India-Empowering Nation(Tagline) The logo symbolizes:- 1) Quadrilateral background represents our country map. Brownish north indicates Himalayan range and bluish south indicates the southern part surrounded by Sea. 2)Connection points (saffron,white & green ) symbolizes flag colors & white connectivity lines represents digital connectivity i.e. Nationwide connectivity (i.e. similar to bread board connection in Digital Electronics) 3) Multicolored public is diversified nation
