The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

D I stands for Digital India. D I has a look of fonts used in the computers at around year 1990 which signifies the binary codes used by every digital device on Earth, i. e. 0 and 1. The colour scheme used corresponds to our national flag, i.e. saffron and green linings on the top and the bottom with the Ashoka Chakra in the middle (these colours have same meaning as has been attached to in our national flag) resemble our nation India and its advancements towards technology.
