The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

"Digital" is expressed by using a combination of binary digits 0 and 1, while numerous round dots form "INDIA", which is symbolic of the millions of Indians benefiting from this project, and also represents pixels. This logo truly communicates the intended message "Digital Empowerment of Citizens". The Digital Blue stands for infrastructure, trust on government, technology. While the Indian tricolour shows the essence of India & Indians.

India's potential in an increasingly globalizing world cannot be realized until every citizen including people in rural areas become aware in rural areas become aware of the vast potential of Information Technology. Connecting all our villages is only the beginning of a great mission to unite all our people whether he/she is from Kashmir or in Kanyakumari. Digitization will foster a new era of clean governance, e-commerce, faster delivery of services. Its time for "ONE INDIA = DIGITAL INDIA"

DIGITAL INDIA: a vision, a mission of all the indians moving together towards a nation totally advanced, totally DIGITAL.... The LOGO represents the MAP of INDIA in which people are working on Portable computers....... I have kept it simple so it could be understood by all the people in the country............. that of what they are going to be a part of............ DIGITAL INDIA
