The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

The torch/mashal is done creatively which signify on demand delivery of ground-breaking initiatives which empower the citizens. It signifies Information & Knowledge exchange, Digital Infrastructure & E-governance unified together making it one mashal. The driving forces is digital technology - flame. The colour palette is derived from colours of Indian Flag. The logo design is elegant, stylish, innovative, original and citizen oriented to match ground-braking initiatives from DeitY.

All India is connected digitally. The logo essentially represents the wi-fi symbol through which the digital foundation will be made possible. The other aspect is the 3 waves of the wi-fi also represents the 3 strata of society. The lower class, the middle class and the higher class all connected digitally. Further one can also interpret these3 waves as the Government, Bureaucracy and the people all connected, digitally. Loka sangraha is the Sanskrit for "benefit of the people".

This is the best i could manage with powerpoint and Laptop 1)The Dark Colour represents the infinite nature of Digital space 2)The "d" comprises of "INDIA" written in BInary code 3)"EK Nayi Khoj" means the unlimited and the unexpected positiveness we shall get once all our citizens are digitally empowered. The logo may not be artistic or good looking but i am sure the theme or layout can be edited in better way by experts

D Digital literacy – turn to a new slate. DIGITAL. D looks like fresh slate, a new page, a computer screen, a tablet window, a mobile screen D - perimeter - everything will come within your reach Merging of digital and democracy – click and like, click and follow, click and elect, click to solve, click for information, click for jobs I Looks like an index finger / mouse pointer to click. I can click my phone, tap my tablet, and I can touch the government and government can reach me

peacock being our national bird, i have tried to implement it in the logo as the mascot character of digital india.
