Ministry of Women & Child Development seeks entries that suggest content for an SMS campaign under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme to create awareness about the issue of declining child sex ratio, survival and celebration of the girl child, enabling her education and empowering her.

The scheme aims at coordinated and multi sectoral convergent action towards improving child sex ratio and promoting the value of girl child and highlighting the importance of empowering her education. A campaign like the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao should not only draw attention of the masses to a grave concern like declining child sex ratio but also lead to change of mindsets towards empowering daughters through education. The outcome is envisaged to ensure girls are born, loved and nurtured without discrimination, educated and raised to become empowered citizens of this country with equal rights and opportunities.

The winning SMSs will form a part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign. The objective of this campaign is to celebrate and value the girl child and highlight the importance of education in empowering her.

The last date of submission is 30th November 2014.

The top 6 winning entries will be awarded Rs. 5,000/- each.

Every girl child born in India should be self respect and treat her like a motherhood of good luck. Girl child has the same right to live and express her feelings without discrimination. Today's generation is about creativity, Knowledge and wisdom not to think about gender. A girl is a power of mother, power of sister, power of wife,a power to leading the country, a power to be sportsperson, A astronaut. Don't make your thinking small by discriminating on gender base.

To all the misogynists and male chauvinists I would like to ask one thing," how do you treat a fertile land that bears fruits and vegetables with respect or ignorance? do you nurture it or destroy it?" Don't you think than the female population play the same role and so much more in your life. They help you nurture and grow. females don't need accolades not reward for what they do, all they need is respect, love and freedom of thought. So lets have a rational mind and 'Beti bachao beti padhao'

Its high time that respect and adore women not just in temple premises as 'Ma shakti' but also as true shakti who if given an opportunity to study can bring about change in society
