In Qatar, there is a government health clinic set up in each area. People of a particular area can go to only their particular areas' clinics, which will be specified in their compulsory health card. This step ensures the clinics are never crowded and everyone gets access to free healthcare, no matter how established they are financially. These clinics cater to the needs of most of the common diseases like colds, fevers, etc. In that case, only serious cases would be diverted to govt hospitals.

I am supportive to preventive care. The good quality food, quality water and better environment is key for the healthy lifestyle and better livelihood. Also, the regular exercise and yoga will prevent disease and one can feel healthy. I would like to start a "preventable healthcare center" in tandem with "model village" and provide a training on how to live healthy with healthy food choices. Also, we will keep track of health status of villagers to track improvement and also create database.

I am a doctor in UK. The General Practitioner centered health system here is ideal for Indian setup. It is already there in our Primary health center based system but is not completely implemented. The reasons are underdeveloped and under staffed PHCs and district hospitals. Instead of developing and setting standards for primary care and secondary care, for example in Kerala, state is looking towards starting number of medical colleges even when the existing ones need acute improvement.

I would like to invite PMO's attention towards the Kerala state government's decision to start numerous medical colleges( in every district in such a small state). The existing medical colleges needs more planning and development(even the post graduate courses in existing med colleges are facing disqualification from IMC due to lack of facilities and staff). The PHCs, and district hospitals needs improvement instead of starting new Medical colleges everywhere.

India being the home to Ayurveda and other alternative treatments should do more research and promote Integrative Medicine, specially since increase use of antibiotics has led to antimicrobial resistance. The Health Ministry should also keep a close watch on International medical devices, drugs recall list and take action http://www.drugwatch.com/recalls. Most US visitors insurance does not have coverage for pre-existing conditions, visitors should get medical checkups done before visit.

Recently, I saw an Indian Newspaper report on Government's decision to decontrol prices of 108 drugs which has caused the prices to go extremely high! The price Glivec, an anti-cancer tablet is said to have risen from Rs 8,500 to Rs 1.08 lakh. This price increase is going be a huge burden on poor & middle-class, Government should make it a priority to address this issue and announce via press release.

I believe that we have examples of institutes that provide excellent healthcare services in India. look at Sankara Netralaya Institute . A non for profit institute that has done very well to serve the needs of the country. Their business model should be adopted across the country and specially by the public run hospitals. We should not waste time in reinventing the wheel.

One national number for medical emergency (like 100 for police) 5. Health card for all citizens linked to AADHAR

Practices can be bench-marked worldwide by Indian embassies. Urgent need is to make the current system more effective & efficient in govt clinics.Mr, Modi do what you have done in Gujrat computerization of process. Open a file when patient comes and keep track of his activities. Example When did the doctor saw the patient, medication issued or not etc.If patient is not treated the case should automatically be reported after specific time to Health ministry and action shall be taken against DR.

One of the best ways to modernize medicine in India is to transition all medical records at all hospitals into electronic format. This will make sure that every doctor has up-to-date information about the patient and no handwriting issues will come up. Here is a link to a site that shows how hospitals start the process of moving to electronic records. https://himsscpoewiki.pbworks.com/w/page/10258531/FrontPage
