Indian Passport should have been integrated with automatic identification technologies like RFID tag, so that the queue at the immigration officer can be reduced. Also, the custom officers should be strict with the foreigners other than the own Indian passengers. Sometimes, they allow all the foreign passengers to let go without checking their luggege and use to check each and every bagaage of Indian passenger. It has also been observed that there is breakage in check-in bag at Mumbai airport.

Service quality should improve and need to be transparent to the applicant. Immigration queue at the international airport need better management. Some of them can be easily automated since the airlines transmit the travelers data before the plane arrives. So install automatic machines that can scan the passport and make necessary updates to passports. To do this implement passports with a chip that carries all the required details. Passport verification will be the responsibility of the airline

I would like bring to light the plight of marine engineers in India. Although not NRI in the true sense for f the word but this very large community of merchant navy officers brings in a considerable amount of foreign exchange every month in salaries. Although the Indians are treated with respect and the Indian COC is valued throughout, we still face lot of problems in India when seeking jobs or getting certificates, other paperwork.this space is not enough to list in detail. Please Take notice.

A lot of NRI's would like to participate in the development of India with investments, small industries but we need the co-operation of the Government to obviate bureacracy, harassment and quick allocation of spaces to build factories. Also, I would like to suggest an INDIA DEVELOPMENT FUND, whereby all INDIAN DIASPORA contribute £10 (USD 18 approx) every year, so that these funds can be utilised for building toilets and Green India. This particular fund must be controlled by the HON. PM's Off

BIOMETRICS / DIGITAL IMMIGRATION booths on International airports for Arrival & Departures. I do not understand the purpose of Immigration counters for Indian citizens at International Airports in India for Departures & Arrivals. And most irritating question is “Your purpose of visit to India” as a Indian citizen I believe you can come to your home country at any time!!! Anyways the issue I want to raise is that why these checks are required; as Indian citizens spend a lot of times in queues and sometime you also feel frustrated when other queue moves much faster than yours. At present we are into digital world. All of our passports are now digital & with bio-metric. So why don’t we put up Bio-Metrics machines on International Arrival/Departure immigrations control where people can go online and feel all the necessary details before flying In/out of India probably 24hrs before and can go directly onto the bio-metrics machine to verify themselves and do quick immigration. Secondly, in mean time Officers can verify the online information and if required they can put a check to call the concern person for further verifications.

Many Indian nationals have not opted for foreign passport, as giving up Indian passport is like giving up our roots. Govt. should consider dual nationality and use yearly fees to support free education for poor. This way we NRI community will still retain the document issued by president of India and government can put this goodwill to educate.

1. Easy access to the electoral process to NRIs. Something like absentee or overseas voting would be really appreciated. 2. Faster and stampless immigration check for NRI citizens of India. 3. It would be a nice idea to have recreational and sports facilities and frequent social gatherings at Indian missions abroad. This gives you a chance to meet fellow Indians and feel connected with the country.
