Ministry of Women & Child Development seeks entries for the design of a badge to be worn by Gender Champions in schools and colleges. The mission of Gender Champions is to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. Gender Champions can be both men and women. They emphasize on mindset change through sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilization of the common people on ground.

Gender champions are a joint intervention of Ministry of WCD & HRD. They shall be identified in each and every school and vocational/ skill development institute by the concerned authorities as mandated by Ministry of Human Resource Development. These gender champions shall be entrusted with the responsibility of sensitising their family members, peers and community about gender equality and issues related to women empowerment.

The last date of submission of entry is 1st August 2015.

The winning entry shall be awarded ₹5,000/-

Please find my design submission for the Gender Champions programme. In the design, I have retained the “ Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” logo and also brought in the fact that girls & boys be given equal status. The National flag colours of orange & green have been weaved into the design to represent the courage, faith & purity this initiative will bring in the minds of players and viewers.

Namaste, My Self Md Toqueer Alam, Attached design is truly my own concept for Gender Champions. The concept is for schools and colleges. I used both boy and girl icons in the center of the badge as promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment, with our National flag surrounding. Also I have done some creativity by putting both male n female icon around the circle which indicate the awareness raising and community mobilization of the common people on ground. Jai Hind... Respected fellow Indian, This badge has values in it.The first I in India denotes a man(or a boy),whereas another I in India denotes a women(or a girl) and both are in harmony.Also the girl denotes the cultural values of India.The A(upward triangle)in India denotes growth of the nation.The colors denotes the colors represented by the flag of our nation. JAI HIND!!!
